Sustainability concerns us all. It is important for our planet and is also becoming an important driver in the home furnishings industry.

Price increases, inflation, housing compression: there are many reasons to think twice about buying furniture or remodeling interior design in the near future. How can the industry create future additional purchase and expansion incentives for the end consumer via FUNCTIONALITY of furniture, materials and space planning?

Color psychology, hardware trends and infrared heating technology

This 1-day workshop for professionals looks for potentials for trend-setting functionality in different areas with the help of different working groups, whose field of work is put together by the participants themselves: for private living space, for offices, hotel business and gastronomy. For this purpose, trend expert Katrin de Louw has once again invited external experts online to provide brief impulses to the workshop during the day, e.g. on the subject of color psychology, hardware trends and infrared heating technology.

Color psychologist Prof. Dr. Axel Buether, Bergische Universität Wuppertal, will give an impulse lecture on the topic: “The mysterious power of colors”. Germany’s leading color expert gets to the bottom of the mystery of color in his non-fiction book of the same name. Each participant in the workshop will receive a free copy of his interesting book to take home.

Another interesting short lecture is expected on the subject of hardware trends. André Dorner, Managing Director of Blum GmbH Germany, will give a presentation on “Solving everyday problems with smart functions”.

“Opportunities of infrared heating technology for furniture and architectural surfaces” is then the third, external short contribution, presented by Günther Hraby, co-founder and managing partner of the company easyTherm Infrarot Wärmesysteme GmbH.

The aim of the day is to generate new ideas for planning, materials, furniture design or also with regard to service, both via discussions and via creative techniques that newly link topics and approaches across products and services. The focus is always on the participants’ main areas of work in order to produce tangible results for as many participants as possible. All results are subsequently documented and made available to the participants.

A valuable day for sure

In the Furniture Future Forum, with 600m², there is not only plenty of space for safety distances among the 20 participants, but the TRENDFILTER team maintains a “rather strict” approach to the Corona hygiene rules. Experience shows that all participants feel safe at all times. Currently, we assume that all participants are freshly tested on site with a quick test in the morning before the workshop between 8:30 and 9:00 am. Hygienic buffet, disinfectant and mask in case distances cannot be kept are also a matter of course.
