Peter Ippolito founded the Ippolito Fleitz Group together with Gunter Fleitz in 2002. The interdisciplinary studio with offices in Stuttgart, Berlin and Shanghai always implements projects from multiple perspectives and combines the diverse skills and experience from the disciplines of (interior) architecture, communication and product design. The studio’s projects have now won 400 national and international awards. In 2015, Peter Ippolito and Gunter Fleitz became the first German designers from the field of interior design to be inducted into the ‘Interior Design Hall of Fame’. In 2021, the iF Design Award listed the studio in its index as the world’s number 1 in the interior design category.

Dipl. Ing. Verena Schiffl took over the Material Research Lab of the Ippolito Fleitz Group in 2013 and has since been involved in a large number of excellent interior design projects. Together with her team, she develops the unique combinations of colors, materials and surfaces that make the projects of the studios in Stuttgart, Berlin and Shanghai so distinctive. She also develops CMF concepts and collections and shares her expertise in lectures and workshops. At trade fairs and backyards around the world, she searches for exciting new materials – as a result, the Ippolito Fleitz Group’s materials library is now one of the largest in Europe.

Veronika Schmidt-Schäffer (*1984) is a senior designer with a focus on CMF design, at Phoenix Design Munich. After studying industrial design at the University of Applied Sciences Munich, she was able to gain and pass on intensive experience in the field of CMF (Color, Material & Finish) at renowned design agencies and as a teaching assistant. She has been part of the Phoenix design team since 2017. With her long experience, she now supports international clients such as Hansgrohe, Interstuhl, Huawei, Haier, LG in issues related to trends, color, material and finish. In 2018, she was part of the “Red Dot Design Team of the Year” with Phoenix Design. This honorary title, goes annually to a design team that convinces through continuously outstanding design achievements.

Joon-Mo Lee (*1976) is Managing Director at PHOENIX and heads the PHOENIX Studio in Munich. Graduated from the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, his client projects and lectures revolve around the intersection of philosophy, culture, design and innovation. Before entering the design industry, he worked in the toy and FMCG industry, in Düsseldorf, Berlin, Hong-Kong and London. Since then he has worked with a wide range of leading brand companies including LG, Samsung, Boeing, Huawei, BSH, Neff, Hansgrohe, Vorwerk and Schindler. Joon enjoys traveling with his camera, seafood, cheap booze and karaoke nights with his team.

Katrin de Louw studied interior design and has been working for companies in the furnishings and materials industry in the areas of trend research, product development and design since 1997. She is the initiator of the FURNITURE FUTURE FORUM at the center of the German furniture industry, a juror for the Green Product Award, an author for trade journals and is considered a leading expert on material and design trends in interiors.
